Welcome to the Lewisham Children's Services Procedures Manual

Welcome to the Lewisham Children's Services Procedures Manual which is produced and maintained in partnership with tri.x. This replaces all previous procedures manuals.

Please see 'Using this Manual' for details about the way this manual works. These are some of the key elements you need to be aware of:

  • Procedures - this contains the main policies and procedures that ensures we comply with the law and statutory guidance when safeguarding the needs of the children and families we work with;
  • Lewisham Practice Guidance - contains local guidance, tools and other information that supports and complements the policies and procedures in the procedures section;
  • The Lewisham Safeguarding Children Partnership brings together all the main organisations who work with children and families in Lewisham, with the aim of ensuring that they work together effectively to keep children safe. The Lewisham Safeguarding Children Partnership follow the London Safeguarding Children Procedures;
  • The manual is updated on a regular basis and you can register to be alerted to any change by using the 'Register for Updates' button below;
  • The latest changes to the manual can be found in the Amendments table.

This manual has been tested on a variety of up-to-date mobile devices to ensure that it displays correctly. However, if you find that you still cannot use the site select the 'mobile' option at the bottom of the screen. The majority of devices have the functionality to allow a shortcut to be downloaded to the welcome screen by loading the site using the web address and tapping 'Add to Home Screen'.
